Meet Richard Wesselt
The Life Insurance General
Rich was born in Norristown, PA in 1967. He attended 12 years of Catholic school and from 5th through 12th grade ranked first in his class in every marking period. Raised by a loving mother and a disciplined Marine father, the seeds were planted early for Richard Wesselt with the importance of work ethic, service and integrity.
In high school, he was an All Catholic quarterback and along with his strong academic excellence was recruited to play football at the University of Pennsylvania in 1985. He subsequently graduated from the prestigious Wharton School of Business in 1989.
Rich brings a very competitive and high achieving personality in all that he does and this was recognized as he entered the life insurance and annuity industry in 1989. He earned rookie of the year honors in 1990 with provident mutual and by 1996 had led Phoenix home life in number of policies written.
In 1997 he started on his own and founded Wesselt Capital Group and has owned the company ever since. One of the things he is most proud of is that he has seen over 34,000 people in the last 25 years. That experience has helped him touch the lives of many, improve their financial situation and protect and insure their future.
It would be common to find Rich at the fitness center at 5 AM which begins a disciplined day that allows him to help so many people. He has built an impeccable customer service team, planning team and administrative staff to serve his clients. Combined, they bring over 100 years of experience to the industry and the relationships that have been forged with his clients have been enhanced by his team.
Richard Wesselt has served, uninterrupted, on the boards Bishop Kenrick High School, Kennedy Kenrick High School and now Pope John Paul High School since 1992. He has helped raise funds, provide scholarships, and mentor dozens of students who have benefited immensely from a Catholic education. In addition, over the years many of the student have interned for Wesselt Capital Group and have gone on to successful careers on their own.
Personally, Rich has been married for 20 years to his wife Amy. He has two sons, Logan (age 16) and Carson (age 13), who he loves deeply. Both children are exceptional students. Logan plays quarterback at Pope John Paul High School and Carson plays basketball at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West. Rich enjoyed coaching his boys for 11 years in youth sports.
One of the things that Rich his most excited by is that many of his clients children and even grandchildren are coming into the office to begin implementing their life insurance and planning. He hopes to continue to attract bright, young futures as well as established financial profiles to continue to serve for many years to come.
